Random Update 1

Recently, mc darling bought for me alot of recipe books for baking from borders as they were having promotion. we went thru e whole baking section n bought 3 baking books which contain lots of recipes but no detailed instruction tat i was looking for. mc darling was looking for a modern jap baking book. 

Then when we went to Marina Sq for mc darling's haircut on last last weekend, we passed by Times n mc darling spotted this book.

We went in in search for it but couldn't find it so we asked for assistance n e shop attendant checked n told us tat e display was e last copy. We asked her to show it to us n without hesitation, we purchased it (actually it's paid by mc darling, hahaha).

This book is e kind of recipe book i'm looking for. It provides basic explanation of equipments n ingredients, followed by detailed instruction on basic baking recipes with tips, then jap-styled baking recipes. Super love this book. For beginners like me, it's a gd book to start wif.

Too bad, i dun haf a oven at home now to try e recipe but i will definitely post up when i done so. Initially i wanted to get e oven when we had our home but my mom said she dun mind getting one now to put it at her place 1st n after our place is ready, we can shift it over. So i'm planning to search for a oven wif my mom during my x'mas to new year break n hopefully will purchase one n start whipping e recipe, hehehe.

Random Update 2

When we were at e counter paying $$ for Okashi, 8 days magazine caught my eye cos Dai Yang Tian was on e cover so it went into our carrie bag wif Okashi, hehehe. I find him resembles Takeshi Kaneshiro, especially his voice but at certain angle he looks like Jimmy Lin who was my idol when i was in pri sch, *shy* hehehe.

So i tink he's a combination of both of them.

In 8 days, it was mentioned he has Wii console n i'm puzzled y he has tat as it's not a guy toy n mc darling said he has tat to sian gers. Hahaha, i tink so too.

I believe DYT will look gd on big screens, so hope he will go into movies soon but if he does tat, he will definitely leave mediacorp n we wun get to see him on small screens. Anyway, as long as he dun quit show business, we will still haf chance to see him, hahaha. I can imagine him acting in movie role like Takeshi does in Tempting Heart (心动) which should b a gd start for him in movie business. TV drama wise, i would love to watch him acting as Takeshi role in Kamisama Mou Sukoshi Dake (God, please give me more time), which was e drama tat made me fell in love wif Takeshi, hehehe.

Random Update 1

I went thru e photos in my hp n found these pics taken of some pink clouds when mc darling was driving me along ECP one evening.

Actually mc darling was e one who spotted them n insisted me to capture them cos they hardly appear, hehehe. I'm glad i listened to him cos they were beautiful.

Random Update 2

How time flies, in another 2 weeks time, we r going to haf a HDB flat under our name, so exciting but also heart pain cos i'm going to b super broke.

We haf to start looking for contractor for our home renovation, then we haf to shop for furnitures n home appliances. Last time, i can only decide on e design n furnishing for my room, but now i can make these decision for e entire flat, hahaha. But of cos, must get consent from mc darling first, hehehe.

We haf decided to go for a modern retro theme as we r retaining e terrazzo flooring tat comes wif e flat. I haf looked up some design n my favourite is this.

I dun tink we can do it as nice due to our low budget but hopefully we can do close to it wif a few touches of our own originality, hehehe. 

2009-11-27 ~ Dinning @ Kimochi

Went to this jap-western restaurant called Kimochi at Vivocity after our workout at True Fitness. They sell jap sandwiches, salads & desserts n they look healthy so decided to try it out.

Our order came wif a complimentary mushroom soup which tasted nice, not too creamy nor too watery. My order was a sandwich filled wif my favourite unagi n avocado green tea shake, n mc darling's order was ham sandwich. It was my first time eating unagi wif bread n it didn't disappoint me, neither did it made me wow but i felt super healthy n e portion was jus nice. E shake was nice but i find its presentation too plain.

I like e concept of this restaurant but becos of it's location, it was not crowded in the evening. I will definitely go back again, especially after workout, hahaha. We usually patronise Breeks @ Habourfront after our workout but now i tink i will switch to this cos e price is abt e same n it's more healthy.

I feel like popping by there this evening to haf my dinner after workout, hehehe.

I wish i can stop my mind from tinking to give my mind a rest.

Probably i grew up in quite a comfortable environment so when big issues happened, i dun know how to cope, especially those tat takes a long time to haf a closure, cos i will keep tinking abt it uncontrollably everyday, whenever i am not concentrating on sth.

Things have been happening recently n they have affected me psychologically. Some of these things tat happened were within my anticipation but didn't expect it to happen now. I find that i'm not handling it well internally n i'm afraid eventually it may surfaced n cos unnecessary pain. I dun wan this to happen but i can't helped it but feel vexed inside.

I know nobody can help, except myself to overcome this n help e ones in need in a proper n appropriate manner. I must admit, i really haf to grow up n face e reality of adulthood. If there is reincarnation, I dun wun to b human again man. I wish to b Kiki, my dog, everyday jus eat, play n sleep, no worries, hahaha.

2009-09-25/ 27 ~ Bintan Trip - Mayang Sari (Day 3)

Tat morning was beautiful but I was feeling sad tat we had to go back liao, how i wished i could stay there longer.

Roy wanted to bring us to the resort that we had pizza for dinner last nite to haf breakfast but he didn't wan to travel there by e shutter ride cos he wanted to ride a buggy n........ we rented one.

B4 we arrived at e resort, we passed by a mini zoo which we went back to explore after breakfast.

E food was as gd as e restaurant at e resort we stayed but wif a little more variety.

See their jus-woke-up eyes, LOL.

After having a sumptuous breakfast, we exited e restaurant n saw this cage wif charmeleon lizards, can u spot them in e pic?

As we went to fetch our buggy, we spotted this cool red buggy parked along e same row as our rented buggy n we wished that we could haf rented tat ride instead, hahaha. Anyway, at least Roy had a pic taken wif it.

We fetched our buggy n Roy taught Charissa (who does not haf a driving licence) how to drive it n she rode us to e zoo, hahaha. She was nervous but eventually we reached our destination safe n sound, LOL.

It was my turn now to take over e wheels, hahaha. My 1st time driving a buggy, super fun n thankfully, e guys didn't really complained abt my driving, hahaha.

E bird cages were e last stop for e mini zoo visit n I drove them to another place tat we passed by when we were making our way back.

It was a recreational centre for visitors to haf archery, pony rides n other physical activities but it was still under construction so no one was there to play.

It was time to head back to our resort n mc darling took e wheels n drove us back to check out but b4 we returned our buggy, Roy made Charissa drive e buggy a few turns round e resort porch, hahaha.

After checking out our rooms, we still had abt 2 hrs b4 our ferry ride home so we stayed at e lobby to continue our game of Jenga from last nite, hahaha.

I hope we can play Jenga together soon, : )

2009-09-25/ 27 ~ Bintan Trip - Mayang Sari (Day 2)

We woke up early for breakfast but was too hungry n forgot to take pics of e delicious food. Anyway, after breakfast, me n charissa hid inside e room until e sun was setting b4 we laid our feets on e beach.

There were lots of jellyfishes in e sea, so scary.

Roy was acting professional wif mc darling's camera, LOL.

Two men being childish n gay, hahaha.

I love this pic so didn't collaged it. It was time for dinner so Roy n Charissa brought us to this ang mo restaurant at another resort.

E food was good, i should say better than e chinese dinner we had last nite.

After dinner, we went back n washed up to get ready for Jenga, hahaha. We stayed up late to play it n it was super fun tat we only stopped when our eyes couldn't stop closing.

Tat's all for Day 2 n i was feeling sad to go home e next day....

2009-09-25/ 27 ~ Bintan Trip - Mayang Sari (Day 1)

mc darling n i went to Bintan wif one of his couple frens, Roy n Charissa on e following weekend after our JB trip. We booked e earliest ferry ride at 8.10am as per Roy's request n i was swearing to mc darling e nite b4 y must we go so early as we need to wake up at 5am which is ridiculously early lor.

On tat day, we managed to wake up n reached e terminal at 6.30am n e gd thing was we had time to haf breakfast. Then we waited for our frens to come n guess wat, e person who requested to go early overslept but fortunately, they reached in time. When he arrived, he asked, "Who book e ferry ride so early ah?". And i answered, "We booked it early becos of u lor!". He mistook that e earliest ferry ride is at 12pm, hai.....

So we reached e resort before e check-in time but luckily they haf 1 available room for us to check-in 1st.

After putting our luggages in e room, Roy n Charissa were hungry but 1st day didn't come wif breakfast so they paid for it n e breakfast was served at their outdoor restaurant.

mc darling n i only ate e breakfast e next day n it was a good spread n tasty, much better than Fullerton Hotel breakfast. I realised i didn't take pics of e food probably i was too busy eating, hahaha.

After they had their breakfast, we went back to e room n Roy set up his mini movie theatre for us n we surprised them wif e junk food n games we brought, hahaha.

When e sun sets a little, both guys went out to play in e beach n we ladies stayed indoor to watch movies n surf net. So sad e internet connection there is so slow or else we could haf watch more movies online.

E guys came back to chill out at e balcony n drank almost all e beers they bought. Then we played taboo at e balcony which helped us to pass some time which was ticking slowly, hahaha.

Eventually, e evening came n Roy, e bintan kid, brought us to this chinese restaurant called The Kelong, which is situated in another resort, to have our dinner.

E food was pretty good but not quite worth e price. 

It was time to head back to our resort.

And we all turned in early tat nite cos.... u shld know e reason, hahaha. To be continued.....

Finally i finished editting e photos taken from my trip to JB to attend mc darling's fren's wedding. Here it goes...

2009-09-20 ~ Cheung Yung & Jini's wedding at JB

First of all, notice how nice e date is, hahaha. I tot of having our solemnisation on a nice date like 20 Oct 2010 but it was too troublesome n need to spend more $$ so we dropped tat idea. Anyway, I nv attended overseas wedding overseas b4 so JB is e 1st, hehehe.

Nice outdoor solemnisation. I made a simple slideshow using Picnik for a portion of e solemnisation.

After e solemnisation, we went to take a peek at e ballroom for e wedding dinner.

E newlyweds were so creative, they used e places they have visited to named their tables for their guests n made e seating arrangement board on their own. It was still early for e dinner so we went back to our rooms to take a rest but we rested too long n were e last few to enter e ballroom, so pai seh. Fortunately, e newlyweds hadn't entered when we came in, hehehe.

E wedding food served were quite different from S'pore n i can say some dishes were much more tasty than S'pore.

E ballroom became a disco after e dinner, hahaha. E newlyweds were really gd hosts, accompanying their guests to drink n party till late.

To end this entry, Happy Belated Halloween.

Picnik has these fun tools for halloween so played wif it n made this pic, hahaha. Actually, i have nv celebrated/ dress up for halloween b4 n this year, i didn't get a chance to do so again cos i had to do OT tat nite, *sob*. Shall wait until next year to c got chance a not....

I didn't know abt this movie until mc darling said he wanted to watch it. i'm glad we watched it cos it was so inspiring n made me really wan to pick up cooking, hahaha. Probably tat's his trick in getting me to like cooking but it worked. I can't wait to haf my own kitchen to start my cooking experiment n he shall taste all my results, LOL.

On top of e cooking inspiration, e movie showed how loving Julie Child n her husband, Paul were, so supportive n encouraging to each other whenever they met wif their dead ends. I hope my marriage can b like them. It's sad tat they can't haf children but if they were to haf children, probably Julie Child wun b Julie Child, e french chef, today.

I tink i'm going thru e same dilemma as Julie n Julia. I'm in search for e thing that i wun b dragged to do n feel proud doing it, jus like them in e beginning of e movie. Mayb this is also y i liked e movie cos it relates to my situation now n it gave me hope tat i will eventually find e thing i truly love to do wif passion.

Haf yet to edit my photos from my short trips, will get them done soon, hehehe.

Met up wif mc darling n his frens to haf dinner @ Yakinikutei Ao-Chan to celebrate his frens birthday, hehehe. We were early tat day so started to camwhore e surrounding n ourselves wif my phone camera, LOL.

After 15 mins of waiting, they finally came n here was our feast.

E beef were very fresh but there were not much variety on cooked food so e guys had to order another big bowl of rice to share, hahaha. After dinner, we went over to the Orchard Central across e road.

E layout of e place is like The Central @ Clarke Quay which I dun really like but i can say tat a lot of effort is being put on e display n design of e walls n ceiling.

To end e nite, we had dessert @ Gelare.

Got my favourite vanilla flavour for e ice cream, hehehe. 

Next update will be on our trip to JB n Bintan....

I'm currently addicted to e game, Restaurant City, on Facebook.

I love my pink restaurant but too bad they dun haf things like stage & band for me to decorate my restaurant to a live music pinky restaurant, hahaha. If they were to create e stage, I wish it could come in hot pink to match my theme, LOL.

Random Item 2:

I spotted a rooster at my estate....

E 1st time when i saw him, he looked pretty big to me but when i saw him upclose last nite, he was quite petite n kinda cute. I hope he wun b killed by e cars coming into e carpark.

Random Item 3:

Yeah, it's long weekend again n i'm going JB wif mc darling to visit his cousin and to attend his fren's wedding so going to update wif more picture soon, hehehe.
